Murray, KY – Republican David Williams claimed more than $750,000 in campaign funds at the end of 2010 for his Kentucky gubernatorial campaign. Senate President Williams and running mate Richie Farmer launched the campaign in September but didn't solicit contributions until after the November election. The campaign received a $100,000 loan from Williams when he announced his bid. Williams' primary opponent is Louisville businessman Phil Moffett. Both Republican candidates need to play catch-up with Democratic Gov. Steve Beshear, who has surpassed 3.5 million in fundraised dollars.
