Murray, KY – Former Hopkins County Magistrate Jon Garrett turned down a new Community Development Director position yesterday. Garrett says he turned it down in part because of a failed Hopkins County Fiscal Court motion to delay hiring him. Judge Executive Donnie Carroll says Garrett was an appealing choice for the post because of his experience with public relations. Carroll says that he and the court are now looking for another candidate to fill the position.
