Bardwell, KY – Bardwell city officials have tabled a proposed municipal payroll tax until next month. The proposal would tax city payroll employees 1 percent of their annual net profits. The measure is designed to overcome Bardwell's burgeoning debt reported to be over $600,000. The proposed tax comes after city officials last month passed a one-time $25 business license fee. The Paducah Sun reports the first reading of the proposed tax will be held on February 15th.
