Murray, KY – Nearly one-fifth of people that participated in WorkNow Kentucky during 2010 found permanent employment. Last year, the federally-subsidized program helped over 400 low-income youth and adults with children in western Kentucky land temporary summer jobs. In addition to working with job-seekers, the program helped 146 area employers pay workers by subsidizing their salaries. According to the Kentucky Office of Training and Employment, total expenditures statewide for program were nearly twenty-nine thousand dollars.
