Paducah, KY – McCracken County officials plan to move ahead on a planned expansion of its Regional Jail after a low construction bid came in over a half-million dollars less than expected. Paducah-based M.P. Lawson submitted the lowest estimate at $2.6 million. Judge-Executive Van Newberry tells the Paducah Sun he expects the contract will be awarded at the next fiscal court meeting later this month. The planned single-story expansion will house 132 low-risk Class D felons and work-release inmates.
