Richmond, KY – Kentucky lawmakers are contemplating a statewide ban on smoking in public places. House Speaker Greg Stumbo would like to extend that prohibition to private places, such as a car, when a child aged 16 or under is present.
"It's no different than smoking on an airplane, you've got an enclosed area and if there are smokers there and you're forced to inhale that second hand smoke, it's not good for your health."
Stumbo says it's a safety issue, no different than the danger of texting while driving or driving while intoxicated.
