Golden Pond, KY – A variety of bison will be available at the Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area's annual bison auction on January 29th. LBL officials say the two herds of American bison kept there have to be thinned to keep the animals healthy and their habitat in good shape. Approximately 30 bison will be available this year. The auction will occur at two sites, with bison at the Elk and Bison Prairie to be auctioned at that site's corral beginning at 9 a.m. Bison at the South Bison Range will be auctioned at that site's corral after the prairie auction is finished.
