Hopkinsville, KY – Enrollment at Hopkinsville Community College has grown over 30% in the last five years to almost 3,900 students, but school officials are wary that trend may be only temporary. President Jim Selbe tells the Kentucky New Era it's unclear if enrollment will continue to grow as the economy recovers and more people return to work. Selbe says expected state cuts, Fort Campbell's redeployment and the school's increasing reliance on tuition make it difficult to plan ahead. Student tuition accounted for almost a quarter of the school's $21 million budget last year.
