Frankfort, KY – Kentucky's unemployment rate rose for the second consecutive month in December. The state's jobless rate rose from 10.2 percent to 10.3 percent. The largest hit occurred within the construction sector which saw a decline of 28 hundred jobs. The Kentucky Office of Unemployment and Training's Dr. Justine Detzel says the unusually wintry weather caused the decline in construction jobs. This is the highest unemployment rate since May 2010.
