Frankfort, KY – A third gubernatorial slate has qualified at the Kentucky State Capitol. Louisville businessman Phil Moffett, and Junction City Rep. Mike Harmon, are vying for governor and lieutenant governor, respectively. Senate President David Williams, and his running mate, Agriculture Commissioner Richie Farmer, are also seeking the Republican nomination, but Moffett's not worried. He says his fundraising is picking up.
"Can't give you a dollar amount because the checks haven't come in, but we've had some very nice meetings with some very influential people and they're going to help us, and have helped us. And we're going to be very competitive on a financial basis."
For the Democrats, Gov. Steve Beshear is seeking a second term. His running mate is former Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson. The filing deadline is Tuesday.
