Paducah, KY – McCracken County's Property Valuation Administrator claims the city of Paducah has been cheating the County out of property taxes on its surplus property for decades. PVA Nancy Bock alleges Paducah has been labeling its surplus property as "For Government Use," taking advantage of a tax-exempt status, even though in most instances that's not the case. Bock says she's double checking everything now and the city will no longer be getting any special treatment. Paducah Mayor Bill Paxton tells WPSD-TV he was unaware of the practice and the city will pay whatever is owed.
