Attorneys Asked to Increase Pro Bono Work

By AP

Nashville, TN – Tennessee Supreme Court Chief Justice Cornelia Clark says attorneys need to do some free work as an obligation to their profession. She encouraged the more than a hundred top Tennessee attorneys and community leaders who attended a recent conference to increase their pro bono efforts this year. The high court announced an Access to Justice initiative last June, and a new website will allow Tennesseans to receive free legal advice from volunteer lawyers across the state. The website, going up this spring, is a joint project by the Tennessee Bar Association and Tennessee Alliance for Legal Services.
