Clarksville May Take Out Loan for Airport Upgrade

By Chris Taylor

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville officials are looking to finance a new airport terminal at Outlaw Field instead of committing almost $2 million from the city coffer. City Finance Commissioner Ben Griffin last week recommended the change of course to the city council. The Clarksville Leaf Chronicle reports the proposal comes amid a budget overrun of almost $6 million this year. Montgomery County, which shares financial responsibility at the airport, already plans to use debt service to pay for the new terminal project, which is billed by supporters as a job creator.
