Murray, KY – An advancing winter storm system moving northeast out of Texas and Arkansas will bring wet and windy weather to much of the WKMS listening area over the next couple of days. With the worst of the system trending farther north, there is the possibility that cold temperatures north of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Carbondale, Illinois will lead to freezing rain and ice accumulations on roadways. According to the latest forecasts, far southern Illinois and western Kentucky will remain warm enough to see rain with the possibility of high winds. However, weather in our area can change quickly.
