Fort Campbell, KY – 44 Fort Campbell service members returned from Afghanistan late Sunday night. The 717 Explosive Ordnance Disposal Company ended their service abroad without any casualties. That's no small feat in a battlefield riddled with improvised explosive devices and suicide bombers. Lieutenant Colonel Michael Evans credits his unit's success to training, good sense and maturity. Evans tells the Clarksville Leaf Chronicle the unit is nothing like what Hollywood portrays of bomb-techs as adrenaline junkies and cowboys who cut corners and forgo safety measures.
