Murray, KY – Last Night's Murray State University Presidential Lecturer Ben Stein calls the lack of motivation among the nation's youth a "national crisis." Stein says when he started teaching in 1961, his students were highly motivated.
"I see the disappearance of self discipline and the work ethic a real crisis among today's young," Stein says. "I'm sure it's not true of Murray State, among the Racers, but it is a national crisis."
Stein's major concern rests in students having no desire to learn. Stein says the problem is highly concentrated in the African American and Hispanic communities. Stein spoke to a packed Lovett auditorium last night in Murray.
