Murray, KY – Murray State University's Presidential Lecture Speaker Ben Stein says Rand Paul's idea to abolish the National Endowment of the Arts is not worth it. The abolition of the NEA is part of Paul's proposed $500 billion budget cut. Stein says the public funding of the arts play a considerable part in the education and civilization of free people.
"Abolishing the national endowment of the arts is not going to help much. Its pennies compared to the size of the problem, of the debt," Stein says. "That's only going to be solved by raising taxes. It's a terrible situation, but it's true."
Stein says although the omens are rough, America always seems to get through the tough economic times.
