Murray, KY – Traffic is moving slowly through Kentucky and bordering Tennessee counties, as road conditions will likely remain slick as temperatures remain in the teens. In Calloway County Emergency Management Agency Director Bill Call says though the outcome of this winter weather is a bit surprising.
"The public is actually responding quite well to this. Traffic has decreased. Both the Murray Police Depart and Calloway County Sheriff report not very many accidents today. Quite a few cars are sliding off into ditches and have to be pulled out. But that's not to say that it's not dangerous out there, it is very slippery."
Call says law enforcement officials haven't reported any crash or slide off related injuries in Calloway County. Call also says there have been no reported power outages. Kentucky Department of Highways Spokesman Keith Todd says the road conditions won't likely change much for the next 48 hours, until temperatures climb to near freezing.
