Murray, KY – Road Conditions are likely to remain the same throughout the evening. Kentucky Department of Highways Spokesman Keith Todd says as the temperatures remain in the lower twenties and teens overnight the ice fighting chemicals lose their potency. Todd says the road conditions are the worst in counties bordering Tennessee. Todd who was in Paducah this afternoon describes traffic on I-24.

"It is probably moving about 45 to 50 miles per hour," Todd said. "We'd rather folks slow down and take it easy. I came up behind one of our snow plows a while a go and there was a moving about 45 miles per hour and there was a line of about 15 to 20 cars that were following the plow," Todd said.

In Marshall County law enforcement are tending to a multiple vehicle crash on the Purchase Parkway that has all Southbound lanes completely stopped. Official expect to have the site cleared by 5:00 p.m..

In Tennessee Highway officials report all of the border counties in our listening area are facing the same road conditions. Main routes including highways 79 and 641 are primary plowing routes, but T-DOT officials urge residents to not venture out this evening.
