Paducah and McCracken Co Receive Security Grants

By KPR

Paducah, KY – Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear yesterday presented three Homeland Security grants and two Highway Safety grants to Paducah and McCracken County officials. The McCracken Fiscal Court will receive two of them, one for mobile data computers and another for hazmat systems. The City of Paducah was awarded funds for bomb squad equipment. The governor also presented highways safety grants to the Paducah Police Department and the county sheriff's office for programs to curb dangerous driving. Beshear says he's pleased driving fatalities in the Commonwealth have decreased, but cautions that officials must remain vigilant.
