Murray, Ky. – Two adults and a child were injured this weekend during a Motocross event at Murray State's Expo Center. Bass Productions owner Terry Bass says a competitor had a mechanical failure during a race. The pilot ejected, but his failsafe did not stop the engine. The ATV hit three bystanders: 22-year-old Windy Harre of Nashville, Illinois; 54-year-old Ron Hamson of Dahlgren, Illinois; and a 10-year-old from Benton. All were treated and released from Murray-Calloway County Hospital. The child remained overnight at the hospital, but no further details are available. Bass says this is the first accident at one of his company's events in 15 years. He says they are evaluating safety procedures, but no changes have yet been made. Murray State Police are investigating the incident.
