Murfreesboro, TN – A Middle Tennessee State University police official says a suspect is in custody after a shooting on campus. Officials say the shooting appears to be the result of an argument between two students during which one produced a gun and shot the other. Police described the wound as minor. A campus alert was issued around noon, notifying students and staff members of the shooting and telling them to stay where they were inside buildings. A subsequent e-mail from the university canceled the alert and said the weapon was confiscated.
