Murray, KY – A Murray State University student claims in a lawsuit that members of a fraternity hurled racial epithets and rocks at him at a party. Shawn Jackson of Murray filed suit Tuesday in U.S. District Court against the Gamma Upsilon chapter of Sigma Pi Fraternity at the school, Murray State University and unnamed members of the fraternity. Jackson said he went to a party at the fraternity house on Feb. 19, 2010, after seeing the gathering advertised on Facebook. Jackson said he paid the required fee, but once inside the party, fraternity members subjected him to racial slurs and harassment, then hit him with rocks as he left.
