Frankfort, KY – The Kentucky Tourism Council has been rebranded as the Kentucky Travel Industry Association. The independent industry group has been advocating and lobbying for Kentucky's travel industry since 1980. The association's president and CEO, Kay Berggren, says the new name allows the group to be more closely aligned with travel associations from other states and more clearly identifies it as an independent organization. The association produces four statewide travel conferences a year, including Tourism Day at the state Capitol and the Kentucky Industry Annual Conference in October in Lexington.
