Paducah, KY – Major crimes in Paducah and McCracken County last year were down compared to 2009 rates. Overall major crimes decreased by 16%, despite a 1% increase in the number of calls law enforcement agencies received. The greatest declines were in the amount of burglary and auto thefts reported, while the number of arsons increased. Paducah Police Chief James Berry credits neighborhood involvement and proactive policing for the falling crime rates.
