Morehead, KY – A bill that would have suspended the licenses of Kentucky businesses that hire illegal aliens has been defeated in a house committee. The measure proposed by Republican State Representative Stan Lee was nixed Thursday by the House Labor and Industry Panel. Lee thinks revoking the license of a violating business for six months would reduce the number of illegals working in Kentucky.
"Again, I believe that the employment of these individuals is the primary reason they're coming across the border illegally."
Lee says his proposal was not intended to punish business but to stop the employment of aliens in the country illegally.
