Clay, KY – Two Kentucky State Police officers could face charges after a weekend standoff that led to a suspect's death. Police responded to a call in Webster County Saturday night. Thirty-two-year-old Larry D. Brown of Clay had barricaded himself inside his home and was firing shots in the house. Following an all night standoff, Brown then fired at police. KSP Sergeant Brenton Ford and Trooper Tim Sales, along with a Webster County deputy returned fire, killing Brown. KSP spokesman Trooper Stu Recke says the department will investigate the incident. They will then turn the information over to the local Commonwealth Attorney for a decision on whether or not to indict the officers. The KSP officers are on paid paid administrative until the investigation is over.
