Amish Community Buries 4 Children in Western Kentucky

By AP

Dublin, KY – More than 500 people traveled to Graves County's small Amish community to pay their last respects to four children who died last week when their family tried to cross a rain-swollen creek in a horse-drawn buggy. Family friend Jeff Hall says the mourners, mostly Amish, gathered at a farmhouse for a service before the bodies were buried in a nearby cemetery Monday. Hall estimated the crowd to be larger than 500 and says people came from several other states. Three siblings were killed along with a cousin in the Thursday night accident, 8-year-old Samuel, 5-year-old Sarahmae and 5-month-old Rosemary Wagler, and their 11-year-old cousin, Elizabeth Wagler.
