Frankfort, KY – A 2009 state audit has uncovered possible misuse of public funds by a Livingston County official, one year after auditors recommended changing a policy deemed easy to abuse. State Auditor Crit Luallen alleges former Sheriff Tommy Williams filed for excessive mileage reimbursement potentially siphoning some $32,000 in public funds. Luallen's office is referring the audit to federal and state revenue investigators. Livingston Judge-Executive Chris Lasher tells the Paducah Sun his Fiscal Court has since made efforts to comply with the auditor's recommendations.
