Frankfort, KY – State Auditor Crit Luallen alleges former Livingston County Sheriff Tommy Williams used an excessive mileage reimbursement policy to profit from public funds. Williams retired at the end of last year, opting not to run in the November election. Luallen contends Williams received almost $57,000 for use of his vehicles in 2009, but corresponding gas receipts totaled about $26,000 leaving around a $32,000 difference. Williams yesterday declined to comment to the Paducah Sun. Luallen's office will refer the audit to federal and state revenue investigators.
