A Fort Campbell woman faces multiple charges for abandoning her two-year-old on Interstate 24 Monday night. She blames her actions on the effects of snorting bath salts. Police discovered the child lying on the inside edge of westbound lanes in Marshall County. The child had suffered a head injury. Troopers found the child's mother walking east on the median, carrying another small child. Twenty-nine-year-old Cynthia Palmer confessed to snorting bath salts, and hallucinating while driving. She stopped the car and began to walk, and told police she dropped her two-year-old on the roadway and continued walking. The child was transported to Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville. Palmer faces numerous charges and is lodged in the Marshall County Jail.
