Rudy Says Ketucky's Energy Future Should Be Inclusive

By Dan Conti / Angela Hatton

Frankfort, KY – A western Kentucky lawmaker says the state needs more diversity in its energy portfolio. Republican Represenative Steven Rudy of West Paducah says he'll continue supporting initiatives to bolster Kentucky's existing coal and natural gas industries, but the overall effort should be more inclusive.

"Steelworkers, economic development officials, and really our community as a whole, want us, Kentucky, to embrace the nuclear energy future."

A bill sponsored by Paducah Independent Senator Bob Leeper would lift the state's nuclear moratorium. The bill has passed the Senate, but has yet to pass out of committee in the House.
