Frankfort, KY – State lawmakers are taking steps to crack down on products labeled as bath salts.' The drug, known on the street as Dove' is found in specialty shops in Kentucky. Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Tom Jensen says a bill would make the drug illegal.
"It makes it a crime, you can't possess it, you can't traffic in it. The four items listed, now it's not all bath salts, so let's not call it that. It's these specific drugs which are synthetic drugs."
The bath salts drug can be smoked, injected, or snorted and can cause serious hallucinations. The legislation continues to wind its way through the general assembly.
