Paducah, KY – Grace Episcopal Church in Paducah and the Episcopal Diocese of Kentucky have denied all wrongdoing in a sexual abuse lawsuit. An unnamed former Boy Scout filed allegations in early February that a Scoutmaster abused him during the 1970s. The former scout sued the church, the Shawnee Trails Council, and the Boy Scouts of America for failing to prevent the abuse. The Paducah Sun reports the church's response includes sixteen defenses, including the statute of limitations. Grace Episcopal's attorney says the church has been an outstanding sponsor for the Boy Scouts for over a century. The other organizations named in the lawsuit are still preparing their responses.
