Murray, KY – A flash flood watch will go into effect at 6:00 this evening through noon Saturday for southern Illinois and western Kentucky. Up to three inches of rainfall are possible. Because the ground is still saturated from last weekend's rain, it won't take long for heavy rains to accumulate as runoff. Creeks and streams could rise quickly and water levels may overcome some area roadways. Officials warn against attempting to cross any water covered roads. The incoming rain may also exacerbate ongoing flooding along the Tennessee, Cumberland and Ohio Rivers.
