Clarksville, TN – Clarksville, Tennessee's, Charter Revision Committee is revising the city's charter again. The city last tried to change the document in 2008. This round of revisions follows the state legislature striking down the 2008 version, citing changes gave the mayor too much power. The committee began work recently be removing entire sections of document in an effort to make it easier to read. The committee plans to read through the entire charter, section by section, eliminating and editing the necessary sections. The city provides information regarding ongoing charter revisions at its website.
