Frankfort, KY – Four years ago, Jonathan Miller of Lexington ran for governor, but dropped out of the Democratic primary and endorsed Steve Beshear.
When Beshear became governor, he named Miller his finance secretary. But it wasn't Miller's first stint in Frankfort. He also served two terms as State Treasurer, beginning in 1999.
Miller is leaving state government at the end of the month, to practice law and become a senior adviser to a Washington-based clean energy firm. He's also starting a website called "The Recovering Politician."
Replacing Miller as finance secretary is deputy secretary Lori Hudson Flanery of Louisville.
