Louisville, KY – Republican Senate President David Williams is accusing Democratic Governor Steve Beshear of making what Williams coined a "sophomorish" statement in a radio interview. Williams claims Beshear referred to state senators as "a bunch of fat men" in an interview yesterday morning on Louisville's WHAS. Williams is one of three GOP gubernatorial candidates hoping to run against Beshear in this year's general election. Beshear spokeswoman Kerri Richardson explains the governor didn't say the word "fat" at all, but instead had started to use the word "fellows," but then switched it to "guys" after uttering the first syllable.
