Washington D.C. – There's a slight reprieve this year for taxpayers, with a holiday that's observed in the District of Columbia falling on the traditional tax deadline of April 15. The Kentucky Revenue Department says the observation of Emancipation Day falls on the 15th, which is a Friday, meaning the deadline for taxes won't be until Monday, April 18. The agency says holidays observed in the District of Columbia affect tax deadlines the same way as federal holidays, giving taxpayers the three extra days to file or pay taxes that are due this year.
