Frankfort, KY – Kentucky State Police are investigating the death of a Kentucky State University coed. Authorities say 20-year old Brittany Lewis of Detroit, Michigan, was found unresponsive last night in her dorm room on the KSU campus in Frankfort.
The Frankfort State Journal says the student's mother contacted campus police after being unable to reach her daughter by cell phone. An autopsy has been performed by the Franklin County Coroner's Office, but no cause of death has been released.
KSU President Mary Sias (SIGH-us) issued a statement saying the university community "is deeply saddened by the loss of one of our students." Lewis, a freshman, was studying business administration.
