Paducah, KY – Paducah officials introduced a pair of ordinances yesterday to hire two consulting firms to study the ecological impacts and engineering logistics of redeveloping the city's riverfront. Environmental concerns are mostly related to endangered mussels found in the Ohio River. Mayor Bill Paxton says the city has federal money to back the project. Paducah has so far spent over a million dollars on its Riverfront Redevelopment Project since planning began six years ago.
