Paducah, KY – McCracken County commissioners will vote next month on a proposal to rezone property along the Ohio River for a proposed coal terminal and coal-to-liquid fuel plant. Zoning officials last night narrowly approved the rezoning of some 400 acres along Carneal Road and the Ohio River from rural residential to heavy industrial. The Paducah Sun reports the three-to-two vote stirred up a negative reaction from environmental advocates and neighboring property owners. A final vote is expected April 11th.
