Frankfort, KY – Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear has taken his veto pen to the Medicaid bill approved by state lawmakers. Across-the-board cuts to state agencies, including education, are out. The House has adjourned, but the Senate plans to return April 6th. Governor Beshear and House Speaker Greg Stumbo continue to urge the Senate to adjourn now, so lawmakers will receive no further pay. Senate President David Williams blasted Beshear's broad vetoes, predicting the governor's plan for balancing Medicaid will fail.
