By Angela Hatton

Madisonville, KY – Hopkins County Circuit Court Clerk Carolyn Polley plans to retire Friday. Polley has served the court for 35 years. She tells the Madisonville Messenger she had planned to finish out her term which ends January 2013, but decided to retire early to spend more time with her husband. Karen McKnight is set to replace Polley. She must first pass a clerk's exam, which is scheduled for early April. McLean County Circuit Clerk Stephanie King-Logsdon will fill in during the interim.
