Paris, TN – A utility official in Paris, Tennessee, says that state is at the forefront of embracing electric cars. Pete Lackey is a member of the Paris Board of Public Utilities and also general manager of a Nissan dealership that just installed a charging port for electric cars. According to The Paris Post-Intelligencer, Lackey says such charging ports will become widespread as electric cars become more popular. He says the recent earthquake in Japan has delayed shipping of such cars. Nissan will produce both electric cars and batteries in Smyrna, Tennessee.
