Mayfield, KY – The assistant chief of the Mayfield Police Department is retiring to avoid administrative charges after he sent an email to Mayor Teresa Cantrell she deemed inappropriate. Larry Alexander tells the Paducah Sun the email's contents are taken out of context and blown out of proportion. Cantrell last week charged Alexander with unauthorized use of city property, but agreed to drop the charges if he would initiate the retirement process.
