Clarksville, TN – Clarksville, Tennessee's Charter Revisions Committee has approved proposed changes to when city elections occur. The city's mayoral and council elections will move to August and the runoffs to November in the same years as U-S presidential elections. Currently mayoral elections are held in November with the runoffs in December and inauguration on January 1 during mid-term years. The move allows more time between the election and swearing in and avoids confusion with county mayoral elections.
