Paducah, KY – Paducah will host a transportation summit next month. The Midwest Regional Panama Canal Conference will highlight the economic opportunities from the widening of the Panama Canal. The work is scheduled for completion in 2014. Paducah's local river industry expects an increase in container-on-barge cargo on inland waterways. The conference will feature Maritime Administrator David Matsuda of the US Department of Transportation. The summit runs May 11 through 12.
