Clarksville, TN – Clarksville's Nonprofit Agency Committee Wednesday approved a new policy for how the city funds charitable groups. The Clarksville Leaf-Chronicle reports that while the policy may open the process to more groups, it could also result in cuts to organizations that have drawn funding in the past. The new system grades nonprofits on a number of criteria, such as the number of participants and favorable past audits. Any group rated above 50 on a 100 point scale would receive some funding. Nonprofits will be competing for a fixed pool of 144 thousand dollars.
