Death penalty not sought in Evrard slaying

By Todd Hatton/Paducah Sun

Paducah, KY – Prosecutors say they do not plan to seek the death penalty in the CaSondra Evrard murder case.
Assistant Commonwealth Attorney Raymond McGee says he does not plan to file a notice that would allow prosecutors to ask for capital punishment for anyone convicted of murder in the case. According to the Paducah Sun, McGee says he doesn't believe the case qualifies as having the necessary aggravating circumstance. Mark Taylor, his wife Jamie Lea Taylor, and their 22-year-old daughter, Jasmine Taylor, all face murder and kidnapping charges in connection with Evrard's 2010 disappearance and death.
